A recluse in the town of Disney, you can only ever find Cameron in his bookshop. Even there he rarely talks to anyone because he has Isabelle working the counter and helping the customers, while he works in the back cataloging and sorting books. No one knows much about him except for Isabelle and Warren. Hatter knows some about his background, because they share a similar one, but beyond that, Cameron is a mystery because he likes to be. Regardless of being closed in on himself, he is witty and very sarcastic, always thinking before he speaks in order to be eloquent. Cameron has a habit of smoking, especially when he is nervous or having a very deep thought. After “The Event” he became a much more worried about the future. He could see it after all. He could always see it. But it’s a curse, a deep one, that nothing can be done about. He knew the earthquake was coming, the magick was dying beyond the hills, he knew that boy would die and that it was really Ursula who killed him and not the drugs. He knew so many things. And did nothing. Because you can’t change the future any more than you can change history. Call it fear, call it being a coward, Cameron just calls himself unnatural and often he’s thought of burning his journals, the catalogs of things that have come, and those that will. And the fate’s yet to be seen by their players.

For sewing and clothing construction and all that.  [shrugs]  It’s what I’m good at.

Doing what you’re good at is always a smart choice.. but, do you really enjoy doing it?

the-sally-finkelstein:

[visibly relaxes, this being a much safer topic of conversation]  Textiles.  I’m a grad student.

Textiles? That’s not a very common major. Why’d you choose that? -sets down his now empty tea cup-

[shrugs, feeling very awkward]  I don’t know any married people, otherwise I’d ask.

Well, to each their own, anyway. -clears his throat- So, uhm, are you studying at the university?

the-sally-finkelstein:

[flushes]  Oh.  [clears her throat, staring into her tea]  Uh, no, we haven’t.

Well, most people recommend a long engagement, right?

the-sally-finkelstein:

[flushes, hiding a smile by sipping her tea]  Mhm.  No big.

-drinks his tea in silence for a moment- So, have you two picked a date yet?

the-sally-finkelstein:

[snorts, going back to her tea]  Put it on the ceiling, if you want.  It’s your bloody shop, y’dafty.  [gives him a blank stare, her voice monotone]  No, I found a very skilled Dachshund who was wicked with a needle.  [shakes her head, as if to say ‘bless your little heart,’ smirking]  Of course I did it.

-chuckles a little, finally looking at her- Well, you’re very talented. And I really do like it. -sets it down on the table for now after looking at it for another minute, then debates on whether or not to give her a hug, deciding to awkwardly pat her hand instead- Thank you.

the-sally-finkelstein:

[sips her tea, glancing at the bookshop once again]  …I guess I can understand that.  A bit.  [sips her tea, then suddenly her eyes go wide and she sets down her cup, digging around in her bag]  I forgot the whole bloody reason I came over here!  [tugs out a twelve-by-eight hand-painted gilt frame, which holds a lovely floral cloth with the quote, ‘Not all who wander are lost.’ embroidered across it in careful, curving script]  You needed something for the wall.  Rather bare in here.  [smiles hesitantly, waiting for his reaction]

-sets down his cup as well, awkwardly folding his hands in his lap- What’re you.. -blinks a few times as he looks at the embroidery, then slowly reaches out and takes it- It’s.. great, really, I-I love it, Sally. -looks around, anywhere but at her- I can uh.. put it up near the desk? -gently runs his fingers over the stitching- You did this?
